An ID verifier has exactly the same rights as the administrator, and an administrator is also an ID verifier. The only difference is that the administrator receives all the email alerts when:

  • An applicant fills in their application form
  • The application has been completed by the DBS service.

If you are the Lead Administrator access the portal as an Administrator here

The DBS service reduced the cost of Basic and Enhanced DBS certificates. The Enhanced certificates only remain free for volunteers. Basic DBS checks are not free for volunteers.

Our processing fee remains the same at £8.50 per check

The DBS process once you have submitted

Once you have pressed submit, the application is then in the DBS process. The time it takes to complete can vary because of a number of factors.

There maybe a large number addresses to check, a typo in any of the information, system delays with police checking etc. As you can see below, this application was received by DBS on 22nd June but police checks were not completed until 4th August.

❗️DBS UPDATE SERVICE IMPORTANT

We have actively been discouraging churches from signing up with us to the update service , this is to keep the cost low when volunteers can actually sign up FREE to the update service themselves here . This costs churches nothing so no need to pay us.

Please note Should you disable the “subscription not required” there will be an additional charge of £3.50 per DBS check to the update service
