Christian Safeguarding Services is a provider of specialist training, consultancy and professional support to churches and other faith-based organisations. We are driven by a passion to equip and empower your organisation to develop best practice in safeguarding.
We provide a complete safeguarding service to meet all your safeguarding needs in a flexible and responsive manner. From DBS checks and policy development to training and consultancy, we are confident that we can help you.
We aim to empower the organisations we work with develop the skills and competencies they require to think through the issue they face. We provide training and resources to develop systems and processes that work for your context in a manner that is consistent with your beliefs and organisational structure.
OUR ETHOS AND VALUES

BIBLICALLY CENTRED
Our approach to safeguarding is biblically centred and fully legally compliant. Working from historically orthodox and broad evangelical convictions, we firmly believe that Bible provides the most robust basis for understanding safeguarding and that its teachings drive us to excel in this area.
CSS has its own doctrinal basis which anyone working for us must be fully in agreement with.
FLEXIBLE
We aim to work in partnership with the churches and charities who we support providing them with the help they need in the way they want to receive it. We seek to shape our services to meet the needs of our customers.
INTEGRITY
We promote the view that our approach to safeguarding should be rooted in and shaped by the Bible. This means we seek to conduct our work with integrity, honesty, transparency and accountability. We always seek to operate in a manner that is consistent with being followers of Jesus.

OUR HISTORY
CSS began in 2015 when our CEO Paul Harrison was approached by a church to deliver safeguarding training. He was asked to combine the knowledge and experience gained from his career in safeguarding with his Christian beliefs and framework. This initial training grew by word of mouth and Paul, alongside his wife Sue, began regularly training churches.
By late 2017 a number of larger evangelical organisations had approached them with the desire for CSS to grow and expand to a point where what they offered could be accessed by more churches.
Since then CSS has grown to employ a team of dedicated professionals who have been able to help equip and empower many churches and charities in this area. Alongside the training that remains at the core of what CSS provides we have developed a wide range of other support services all starting from the same conviction: to see churches and faith based organisations excel in the area of safeguarding.
