There is now a time saving benefit available for processing your DBS’s. Once a volunteer or employee has completed their application form and uploaded their passport and driving licence for their digital ID check, you then log into your portal, press the submit button, and it goes to the DBS for processing, its that simple.
The digital system captures an image of the person in front of the camera.
The digital system uses OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technology, NFC (Near Field Communication) chip reading and our expert security team to accurately extract data from thousands of ID document types from over 200 countries and territories.
The digital system uses both automatic and manual processes to check the security features of each unique ID document to make sure it’s genuine.
The scan of the user’s face is captured during liveness to their ID document photo to confirm that the ID document belongs to the user.
The applicant uploads their ID into their DBS application form.
As an administrator or ID verifier, you log into the portal and you will see the message customer submission. This means the DBS is ready to be submitted by you as the customer. You simply click on “edit” as usual and submit the application.
The only difference is you don’t key in the ID information as its already been done for you.
With regards to the ID3Y7P error this is an additional security feature introduced by the portal IT to ensure the correct applicant name is being processed.
The error message is advising that the name order/spelling the application was created in (by the DSB administrator ) is different to the name order on the application being submitted by the applicant.
This sometimes occurs when the employer enters the surname and forename in the incorrect boxes.
Go back into the original application set up, correct the names, ensure you SAVE the form and then resend the form back to the applicant.
*You are charged for each digital ID fail, after 2 attempts the ID reverts back to a manual check
