Refresher Training for Designated Safeguarding Lead and Deputies

The Safeguarding Lead Coordinator is the person who has the lead for safeguarding in the church or organisation. This training sits at the operational level.

The training consists of an interactive zoom session allowing for case scenario discussion and an overview of the role and responsibilities of the Safeguarding Lead Coordinator.  

This course covers everything a Safeguarding Lead Coordinator needs to know to be able to meet the expectations and requirements of the role.

This course covers a refresh of the responsibilities of the safeguarding lead from a biblical perspective and an evangelical frame of reference. It addresses all of the key areas that the designated person needs to understand, including:

  • understanding safeguarding and abuse,
  • responding appropriately to disclosures, concerns and allegations of abuse,
  • supporting staff and volunteers in the discharge of their duties,
  • working confidently and competently with local statutory services,
  • the importance of effective systems,
  • the importance of culture and managing concerns and referrals etc.

The course is interactive and uses a variety of approaches.
