A Full Safeguarding Service
Christian Safeguarding Services provides churches with a complete safeguarding service through an annual membership scheme.
Our aim is simple: to equip churches with the information, guidance, and support they need to strengthen their safeguarding arrangements.
Our website offers a wide range of helpful resources for both members and non‑members. Gold‑level members also gain access to a set of premium materials designed to offer deeper, more specialised support.
We operate a front‑door triage system for all enquiries, making it simple for you to reach us in the way that suits you best.
You can request support through our online contact form — once submitted, your enquiry is sent straight to our team.
Our inbox is monitored continuously from 8am into the evening. Although weekend cover is reduced, staff remain on call. Gold members also have access to a priority line, which is responded to at any time of day. If an emergency occurs outside our operating hours, please contact the relevant emergency service or your local social care duty desk.
We also offer a voicemail service. When you leave a message, the recording is emailed to us and we will respond within three working days. If your message is urgent, we will get back to you within a few hours.
Gold members benefit from an additional priority helpline for immediate concerns, and they can also contact us via WhatsApp using this priority number.
Appointment Consultations
We also offer Zoom consultations, which can be booked easily through our website.
At CSS, you’ll work with the same safeguarding specialist each time you contact us. This means you won’t need to repeat information or explain your situation to multiple people. Your church receives consistent, informed support from someone who already understands your context and your cases.
Our customers matter deeply to us, and our aim is to empower churches to continually strengthen their own safeguarding practice. One way we do this is through our Train the Trainer model also called Deliver-it-Yourself. Churches can use their own people to deliver safeguarding training, while we mentor, coach, and support those individuals. We provide access to our training materials, guide them through the process, and help them grow in confidence. More than 50 churches across the country now have CSS‑trained trainers who are part of our wider network.
Our DBS service is offered as a separate, self‑serve membership for churches and faith‑based charities that do not require advice, support, or access to resources. The system also allows you to request that volunteers subscribe to the Update Service. If they choose to join, their annual check is completed automatically through the portal. We keep our fees as low as possible so that DBS processing remains affordable for all churches.
We have a team of consultants who are all Christians, active in their local churches, and experienced in safeguarding. They work behind the scenes to support our frontline customer‑support staff and help ensure the quality and consistency of our service.
Our consultants contribute to developing website resources, carrying out audits, staying up to date with government guidance, and delivering bespoke consultancy work.
At governance level, a small board of trustees provides oversight and direction for our organisation, meeting monthly to guide and shape our ongoing work.
