Safeguarding Lead Training – Refresher training (Church & Christian Organisations)

This training is designed for individuals who are existing and experienced Safeguarding Leads within a church or Christian organisation. It provides a comprehensive grounding in both statutory safeguarding expectations and a distinctly biblical, evangelical approach to leadership in safeguarding.

📌 Training Format

Facilitated Workshop via Zoom A live, interactive session with other delegates. A Zoom link will be emailed 24 hours before the event.

Please note: If a delegate has already completed the e‑learning module, refunds cannot be issued, but we can transfer the booking to another session.

📘 Who Should Attend

This training is intended for staff or volunteers with lead responsibility for safeguarding within their church or organisation.

It is fully compliant with:

  • Working Together to Safeguard Children (current version)
  • Local Safeguarding Children’s Partnership procedures
  • National guidance for schools and Early Years settings

Delegates will receive a certificate referencing national guidance upon completion.

📚 Course Content

The programme covers the full scope of responsibilities for a Safeguarding Lead, including:

  • Understanding safeguarding and abuse
  • National updates (guidance and legislative)
  • Responding appropriately to concerns or allegations
  • Supporting staff and volunteers in their safeguarding duties
  • Working confidently with statutory services
  • Developing and maintaining effective safeguarding systems
  • Building and sustaining a healthy safeguarding culture
  • Managing concerns, referrals, and ongoing cases
  • Opportunites to discuss wider issues related to the role

All content is delivered from a biblical perspective and within an evangelical framework.

The course is interactive, using a variety of learning methods to support engagement and practical understanding.
