Who we support
Christian Safeguarding Services supports churches and Christian faith‑based organisations by providing a comprehensive yet flexible safeguarding advice and support service. We operate from a broad, historically orthodox evangelical Christian position. While we do not require the organisations we serve to adopt our statement of faith, it is the theological foundation from which we work.
We serve organisations across the United Kingdom, including those working internationally. Our support extends to a wide range of ministries and groups, such as:
- Individual churches
- Denominations and network groups
- Youth organisations, including camps
- Christian schools and early years settings
- Conference providers
- Mission organisations
- Training organisations
- Specialist services supporting vulnerable people
- Disaster and emergency response organisations
- Groups supporting Christians in the workplace
- Any organisation seeking safeguarding advice or support
We help these organisations in a variety of ways, including:
- Strengthening structures, processes, and safeguarding culture
- Providing training
- Offering information and resources
- Giving advice and ongoing support
- Delivering DBS checks
- Providing consultancy services
Our ministry focuses on helping organisations build safeguarding practices that are both biblically faithful and legally compliant—going beyond minimum requirements to pursue best practice. While we cannot directly support individuals who have been negatively affected by issues within their organisation, we can offer signposting, and our website contains information that may be helpful. We believe that all allegations must be taken seriously and that every voice should be heard, especially those who have been harmed or who struggle to speak up.
Every church and charity should have a clear, impartial process for responding to concerns or allegations. These processes should be publicly available, either routinely or on request. Organisations that fail to respond appropriately can be reported to the Charity Commission, the Local Authority, or, where criminal thresholds are met, to the Police.
If CSS has completed work for your church and you, as an individual, remain dissatisfied with the outcome, we will direct you to the church’s complaints policy, to CSS’s own complaints procedures, or, if necessary, to the Charity Commission.
